Models Own Nail Polish Mini Haul & Artstix Review

I noticed a few weeks back that my local everything-shop was carrying quite a big range of the Models Own nail polishes. Being always on the look for decently priced nail polish, I finally found the time to go and have a look at them.

Nail Polish Mini Haul

I had noticed the Artstix already and was originally going to pick up one of them and maybe one from the Hyper Gel line that I wanted to try too, but then I noticed a new line, the Diamond Luxe collection, and I just fell in love with it.

I got a very pretty dark red in NP219 Marquise Maroon and a beautiful browny grey in NP224 Trillion Taupe.
They come in a big range of colours and have teeny tiny diamond particles in that make them shine very subtly. Not being a fan of all out glitter on a everyday basis, I really love that effect. I’ve seen swatches and I can’t wait to try them on!

Now for the Artstix, it’s basically a nail polish duo that comes with a nail colour and a glittery top coat. I got the one in NP189 Cloud, a pretty beige nude shade and NP185 Dew Drops, a mix of small and big gold glitter.

Cloud is a very pretty colour but it’s quite sheer, I applied two coats and it was OK with the glitter on top but I think you would have to use three coats to wear it on it’s own.
The real winner here for me is definitely Dew Drops. I love that is has a base of very fine glitter so that the areas without big glitter don’t look bear, and I really like the confetti effect of the big chunks. What’s great too is that it’s very easy to move them around or pick them up and put more wherever you want on your nails, you can have quite a lot of control over it for the perfect result.
I can definitely see it on top of other colours, maybe darker ones?

Have you ever tried Models Own’s polishes? Do you like them?

Autumn Nail Envy

I hear that it’s officially Autumn, and as a sign the weather got chillier today.
Though I’m not sure I’m ready to let Summer go just yet, there’s something about Fall that feels so cosy and warm … that’s probably the hot cups of tea, comfy pjs and furry blankets!
As nature’s colour scheme changes the clothes get a little darker and the makeup too. I love a good dark berry lipstick for Autumn, and I like my nails to follow as well!
Here are some of the colors I’ll be sporting this season.
